When I first met with Jennifer we decided that doing a monthly Newsletter and creating engagement on her Facebook Page was a good place to start. Both platforms work extremely well for Jennifer because Facebook can showcase her different ideas and commentary on design and her Newsletter can focus more on”themed” topics and feature different local artists. We knew that we did not need to be on every platform imaginable in order to create interest and ultimately sales for Jennifer. We definitely felt that “three” was a good number and that the third platform of Pinterest was the way to go. Interestingly enough, Jennifer has built up quite a following on Pinterest and it’s not surprising since it’s one of the fastest growing social media platforms which helps drive more traffic to your website than dare I say Google.
Pinterest is being able to tell your story through pictures. People need inspiration all the time and what better way to demonstrate your business than through visual presentation. Being able to add keywords and your website url to every image you pin on your board is a blessing and one with which most businesses should take advantage.
Jennifer’s Pinterest page is fabulous (so maybe I’m bragging a little). We just recently added a Newsletter board so people who don’t know about her Newsletter can become new subscribers. Jennifer has a steady following and although interior design services is not as easy as selling a widget, it’s important to remember that you want to stay top of mind for people so when they are ready, they remember who you are and the beautiful work you do.
